Notice of Public Information Centre - Request for Public Feedback for the Battle of Beaverdams Park Redesign 

The City of Thorold is proposing a refresh of the Battle of Beaverdams Park in downtown Thorold.

The goal of this meeting is for the general public to provide feedback on three (3) proposed designs for the Park. The feedback provided will be consolidated into one final conceptual design to be presented to City Council at a later date for their consideration.

Nominations are now open for the 2019 T. Roy Adams Humanitarian of the Year Award.

The award honours the memory of the late Councillor T. Roy Adams and is presented annually to a current resident of Niagara who best exemplifies Roy's values and dedication to community service; a person who sees volunteerism as an integral part of their life

Last year's winner was James Rennie.

Invitation to Apply to serve your Community on a Council Committee or Board

The City of Thorold is served not only be elected officials but by volunteers through appointment to its various boards and committees.  The City is looking for people who have an interest in contributing to their community to make Thorold a great place to live, work and play!

To be eligible for appointment on a board or committee, you must be a resident of the City of Thorold, owner or tenant of land, or spouse of such owner or tenant, a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age.  The Clerk is accepting applications for the Council Term 2018-2022.

Municipalities, as public sector corporations, purchase a lot of goods and services every year such as vehicles, equipment, road salt, paper towels, photocopy paper, toner cartridges, and computers.

MEDIA RELEASE - DocuPet By-Law Awareness Program

CITY OF THOROLD, December 11, 2017 - Docupet's By-Law awareness program is a City of Thorold approved initiative that is currently operating in several cities across Ontario and in the Niagara Region.  The purpose of the program is to have representatives go door to door to visit all homes in the urban area of the municipality to educate citizens about pet licensing by-laws.

Propagation Ban and Sampling of Plants Susceptible to Plum Pox Virus

Between May and September 2017, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will be inspecting selected rural and residential properties in the Niagara Region, to sample susceptible trees for the Plum Pox Virus and/or verify compliance with the propagation ban that is in place.  This means that property owners may see CFIA inspectors on their property.
