Aquafit Instructor

With the addition of a pilot Aquafit program at our pool, the City of Thorold’s Department of Community Services is looking for energetic, highly motivated, organized and responsible instructors to join our aquatics team for the summer of 2018.

Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, the Aquafit Instructor will deliver aqua fitness classes while providing a fun, safe and engaging experience to our program participants.  This position will plan, organize and instruct classes for all ages and abilities while creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for participants.

Preferred candidates will have significant experience in the delivery of Aquafit classes, understand the principles of water and possess the ability to instruct safe classes for all levels and abilities of participants.

Candidates will have an Aquafitness Certification (CALA – Canadian AquaFitness Leaders Alliance, WaterArt or equivalent) or Can-Fit-Pro Instructor certification as well as current First Aid, AED and CPR level ‘C’ certification. The successful candidates must be available to work approximately 8:00 – 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday (schedule as yet to be determined). Successful candidates will be required to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check upon hiring and prior to their first day of work.

Start Date: July 2018
Wage: $25-$30/hr dependent upon experience
